This is a typical four-axis CNC wood lathe, equipped with turning tools and a multi-functional spindle, capable of performing operations such as turning, milling, engraving, drilling, and grooving on workpieces. In addition to traditional continuous high-speed rotation, the lathe center can also perform indexing (rotating to a specified angle), facilitating other machining operations besides turning on the workpiece.
The core of this machine lies in its four-axis-linkage functionality. Its multi-functional spindle can not only move in the feed direction but also perform linear movements in four other directions in three-dimensional space. Moreover, these movements are uniformly coordinated by the control system and can cooperate with other axes. This enables the CNC lathe to achieve arbitrary machining trajectories on no-surfaces-of-revolution by the active movement of the spindle, thereby completing machining processes that three-axis lathes cannot accomplish, such as grooving, pattern engraving, and drilling on flat surfaces (e.g., stair square newels, billiard table square legs).
